Abstract

The functions of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in education currently revolve around better learning. The purpose of this article was to estimate the effects of technological resources on the learning of mathematics in 7th grade elementary school students, specifically on the topic of polygons in the Cartesian plane. The research followed a descriptive-correlational methodology, with a quasi-experimental design of two groups and application of pre-test and post-test. Among the results, it is highlighted that the increase in the score between the pre- and post-test for the control group was 4.99 %, while for the experimental group it was 10.36 %. With the above, it was possible to observe that technologies help to improve the mathematics learning processes and have a satisfactory effect if they are used appropriately
