About the Journal
The journal Matemática, Educación e Internet is a free, open-access, online biannual publication founded in 2000 and sponsored by the Costa Rica Institute of Technology.
The journal publishes original research papers, both theoretical and applied, in mathematics, mathematics education at all educational levels, and related fields. It also brings together several sections devoted to research, outreach, and the teaching of mathematics:
- Mathematics Topics: focused on general areas of pure and applied mathematics.
- Didactics and Software: dedicated to teaching approaches, educational contributions, and technological resources for mathematics education.
- History: covering historical perspectives and the development of mathematical ideas.
- Geometry Topics: centered on geometry and dynamic geometry.
- Mathematics and Algorithms: including numerical methods, optimization, discrete mathematics, number theory, algebra, and algorithms.
- Inclusive Mathematics Education: focused on strategies and experiences related to inclusive mathematics teaching.
- Mathematical Curiosities: devoted to the dissemination of surprising or unintuitive mathematical patterns, results, and phenomena.
In addition, the journal provides the academic community with several complementary resources related to mathematics and mathematics education. These include a collection of open-access books, online courses in probability and differential equations, mathematical olympiad materials, and links to academic resources of interest.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a double-blind peer review process.
The journal aims to serve as a meeting point for the international community engaged in mathematics and mathematics education, while also providing a space for reflection and dissemination in these areas.
Its target audience includes primary, secondary, and university educators, as well as students and researchers in mathematics and mathematics education. The official language for document publication is Spanish, however, publications in english and portuguese are accepted.
