The False Story of the Iron

Abstract

This chronicle links fiction with the daily lives of poor women. Through two fake tales, this object is placed in an imaginary origin where the vanity and narcissism of patriarchal sensibilities prevail. The essential motivation is to assign the iron a place in social dynamics with a distinctly classist character, as it has been a symbol of exploitation for the female working class. This class-based perspective on the iron discusses and criticizes the fragmented nature of museums engaged in preserving its evolution. Objects are always immersed in social dynamics, circulating throughout them, and becoming imbued with symbolism.
