Instructions to publish

 

This section presents the information needed to submit manuscripts to the digital journal Matemática, Educación e Internet.

At this time, manuscripts must be sent by email to any member of the editorial committee:

General information

The editorial committee appreciates your interest in publishing your work in the digital journal Matemática, Educación e Internet. The publication receives contributions related to mathematics, mathematics teaching, the use of technology, and related areas, at both the school and university levels.

The journal brings together different sections dedicated to research, dissemination, and teaching of mathematics, including Mathematics Topics, Didactics and Software, History, Geometry Topics, Mathematics and Algorithms, Inclusive Mathematics Education, and Mathematical Curiosities. These sections cover topics related to pure and applied mathematics, educational software, numerical methods, discrete mathematics, algebra, optimization, dynamic geometry, history of mathematics, statistics education, and strategies for inclusive teaching, among others.

The peer review process is coordinated by Greivin Ramírez Arce. The editing and web administration of the journal are handled by Rebeca Solís Ortega.

Manuscript format

Manuscripts should preferably be prepared in LaTeX. In these cases, the .tex and .bib files must be submitted, when the bibliography was created with BibTeX, along with all images used in the document. For images, the Encapsulated PostScript (.eps) or PNG formats are recommended.

Manuscripts prepared in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word are also accepted. For documents made in Word, mathematical expressions must be inserted using the equation editor or equivalent tools, such as MathType.

Because the journal is digital, the length of manuscripts may vary. However, articles are usually between 10 and 20 pages long. Longer works may be accepted with the approval of the scientific and editorial committees.

Every manuscript must include, at minimum, the following elements:

• Title: must adequately represent the content of the work and have between 10 and 20 words.

• Authors: the full name of each author must be indicated, without academic titles, along with their institutional affiliation and email address.

• Resumen (Summary): must present a clear synthesis of the work, with an approximate length of 250 words.

• Abstract: corresponds to the English translation of the resumen.

• Resumo: corresponds to the Portuguese translation of the resumen.

• Keywords (Palabras clave): at least three keywords related to the content of the manuscript must be included. These facilitate the indexing and retrieval of the article in academic search engines. It is recommended to use terms from the UNESCO Thesaurus; when necessary, specific keywords that accurately describe the content of the work may also be included.

• Keywords: correspond to the English translation of the palabras clave.

• Palavras-chave: corresponds to the Portuguese translation of the palabras clave.

• Introduction: must present the topic, the purpose of the work, and the elements necessary to contextualize it.

• Development sections: constitute the main body of the manuscript and may vary depending on the nature of the work. In research articles, they usually include sections such as theoretical framework, methodology, data analysis, and discussion of results.

• Conclusions: must synthesize the main findings, contributions, or reflections derived from the work.

• Bibliography: must include only the sources cited in the manuscript. References must be organized alphabetically and comply with the format established by the journal.

Authors must omit from the manuscript any information or statement that could identify them during the review process.

The APA format must be used for preparing bibliographic references. The use of reference managers such as Mendeley is also recommended.

Authors are required to have an ORCID identifier to include in the final version of the article.
