Abstract

Markov numbers, the equation, and Markov's Theorem are important topics in number theory and probability. The objective of this work is to seek a deeper understanding of Markov numbers, the Markov equation, and Markov's Theorem. Furthermore, it explains the relationship between Markov's Theorem and the Lagrange spectrum (a set of real numbers with a certain characteristic). For this reason, several concepts are explained in detail to aid in understanding these topics; namely: finite continued fractions, simple infinite continued fractions, the Diophantine equation, and the Lagrange spectrum. The aim is to provide those interested in these topics with a self-contained text and to introduce them
to certain important topics in the area of algebra.
