Correlación y análisis de coeficiente de sendero en chile dulce (Capsicum annuum L.) cultivado bajo invernadero

Resumen

Se establecieron correlaciones de Pearson entre doce variables para 27 genotipos de chile dulce producidos bajo invernadero.  Las variables evaluadas fueron:  altura de planta (AP), área de la hoja (AH), diámetro del tallo (DT), longitud del tallo (LT), longitud del fruto (LF), ancho del fruto (AF), relación longitud/ancho del fruto (LF/AF), grosor del pericarpio (GP), número de frutos por planta (NFP), edad al inicio de cosecha (EIC), peso del fruto de primera calidad (PF), y rendimiento comercial (RC).  Además, se realizó el análisis de sendero para RC.  Se obtuvo una correlación positiva y significativa entre RC y, tanto NFP (r=0,51**), como LF (r=0,40*) y LF/AF (r=0,39*).  El principal efecto directo positivo sobre RC fue ejercido por NFP (coeficiente de sendero-CS=1,78), seguido por PF (CS=0,73), AF (CS=0,70), LF (CS=0,62), GP (CS=0,31) y AP (CS=0,26), mientras que los máximos efectos indirectos positivos sobre RC fueron ejercidos por AH (CS=1,37), LF/AF (CS=1,29), AP (CS=1,17), LT (CS=1,13) y LF (CS=1,01), a través de NFP.  Por otra parte, DT (CS=-0,37), LT (CS=-0,24), EIC (CS=-0,22) y AH (CS=-0,18) ejercieron un efecto directo negativo sobre RC.  Los resultados obtenidos de la correlación y el análisis de sendero mostraron que la eficiencia en la selección para RC en chile dulce puede ser aumentada a través de la selección de NFP.  Se concluye que NFP fue la variable principal que contribuyó con RC, y que es un criterio de selección fundamental en fitomejoramiento de chile dulce cultivado bajo invernadero.  Otras variables importantes a considerar son LF y LF/AF.
