Abstract

The study of the thermic behavior of protected agriculture structures passive type stablished on tropical weather conditions still being relevant when adequate micro climate conditions are guaranteed for growth and development of the plants. In Colombia that behavior and the natural ventilation phenomenon has not been studied for warm weather conditions. The goal of this study is to determine the thermic behavior and the macro tunnel structure renovation for edible fungus index, which was determined through numeric models CFD 3D. The results obtained gave an adequate thermic behavior on the macro tunnel for the predominant meteorological conditions on site. The obtained renovation index oscillates between 22.5 and 45.6 renovations/ hour for simulated cases. The CFD model was validated registering the temperature values in the structure built at full scale, the results obtained shown an adequate adjustment between simulated data and registered data.
