Uso y percepciones de la inteligencia artificial generativa entre el profesorado de cursos de computación: un estudio nacional

Resumen

En este artículo se presentan los resultados de una encuesta aplicada a docentes universitarios que imparten cursos de programación en Costa Rica, con el propósito de comprender los patrones de uso y las percepciones sobre la inteligencia artificial generativa (GenAI) en dichos cursos. El cuestionario se basó en un instrumento previamente utilizado en universidades de otros países. En total, se recibieron respuestas de 43 docentes pertenecientes a 10 universidades. Los resultados muestran un uso elevado de la GenAI en tareas de texto (por ejemplo, generación de contenido pedagógico) y un uso moderado en tareas relacionadas con el código (como generación o depuración). Además, la mayoría del profesorado manifestó su intención de incrementar el uso de la GenAI en el futuro, aunque expresó preocupación por la posible dependencia de esta tecnología entre el estudiantado. Asimismo, se identificó una amplia diversidad de criterios sobre cuándo debería permitirse el uso de la GenAI en los cursos, aunque solo un pequeño porcentaje cuenta con una política explícita al respecto. Estos hallazgos ofrecen una visión actual del uso y las percepciones docentes sobre la GenAI en la enseñanza de la programación y pueden contribuir a promover reflexiones sobre cómo adaptar las prácticas educativas ante el auge de tecnologías emergentes.
