Editorial Process
The original texts submitted by authors will submit an editorial process that will take place in several stages:
-
The process begins with the receipt of the manuscript through the email revistaidi@tec.ac.cr, where the Editorial Committee conducts a preliminary evaluation to assess the relevance of its publication and compliance with the established format using the Initial Article Format Review form. The author must include a Declaration of originality and transfer of rights to the IDI+ Journal so that it may include, edit, reproduce, distribute, and communicate the work nationally and internationally through electronic means under a Creative Commons license. If corrections are required by decision of the Editorial Committee, the author must make the appropriate changes.
-
Once its thematic and formatting requirements have been verified according to the publication guidelines, the Editorial Committee conducts a similarity (anti-plagiarism) review according to the procedure established in its Editorial Policies.
-
If the manuscript successfully passes the anti-plagiarism review, it will be sent anonymously (double-blind) to two external academic peer reviewers, who will return it with recommendations regarding the article. For this purpose, the Academic Peer Review Evaluation Guide is used.
-
The Editorial Committee of the IDI+ Journal will make the final decision regarding the publication of the article (accept, request reevaluation, or reject), based on the recommendations of the external academic reviewers. The final decision will be non-appealable in all cases.
-
Once approved, the text undergoes philological review or copyediting. These recommendations are sent to the author for approval or correction if necessary.
-
Next, the layout and formatting of the article are carried out according to the journal’s format, using the figures, tables, and other materials provided by the author.
-
Finally, the article is published electronically in PDF and EPUB formats.
-
The editorial process has an estimated duration of 6 months, from receipt to publication of the article. For more details, the IDI+ Journal schedule can be consulted.
