Open Access and Reuse Policies

Revista IDI+ follows the principles of Open Access international movement established in Budapest Declaration which establishes that there will not exist any technological nor economical barrier to access to the contents of this journal. That is to say, it guarantees the free, irrevocable and worldwide right to access the information, as well as copy it, use it, distribute it, transmit it, display it, make printed copies for personal use, make adaptations and derivatives as well as their respective distribution, with the appropriate acknowledgments. to authorship. In addition, it provides access to a full version of the document and its complementary materials with an indication of permission for its use in electronic format and its deposit in institutional, academic or government repositories.

Authors keep the copyright and granted Revista IDI+ the rights of first publication, also, the right to edit it, reproduce it, distribute it, exhibit it and communicate it in Costa Rica and abroad through print and electronic media. Likewise, authors assume the commitment on any litigation or claim related to intellectual property rights, exonerating Escuela de Diseño Industrial of Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica and Revista IDI + from liability. Furthermore, it is established that the authors may eventually make other independent and additional contractual agreements for the non-exclusive distribution of the version of the article published in this journal (for example, include it in an institutional repository or publish it in a book) as long as they indicate clearly that the work was first published in this journal.

Anti-plagiarism policies

During the editorial process, all scripts submitted to Revista IDI+ will be inspected with the anti-plagiarism tool of TecDigital which uses the software Turnitin for its functioning. 

The inspection does a textual comparison between the script and its database (which includes international databases) and then generates a similarity report. Each case will be evaluated particularly and cases that incur in more than 15% similarity will be ckecked with greater emphasis. Authors will be notified of the status of the report and will be given the opportunity to make corrections (in the absence of citations) or their manuscript will be rejected if intentional plagiarism behavior is detected.

In addition, all scripts will be inspected personally by evaluators who will indicate the level on originality and quality of the evaluated documents. 

Digital Preservation Policies

Revista IDI+ preserves its final files (PDF and EPUB) and editables (InDesign) in a DRIVE cloud, besides backing up all the information in a physical hard disk guarded by the Editorial Committee. Also, a legal deposit is made in the National Library System (SINABI).
