The AGROINNOVACIÓN in the HUMID TRÓPICS Journal Policies
Focus and Scope
The AgroInnovación in the Humid Tropics Journal is a journal from the School of Agricultural Engineering of the Costa Rican Institute of Technology. It publishes the results of academic research and opinions from the agricultural sector, both in the areas of animal and plant breeding. It is aimed at people interested in the different areas of agronomy; especially academics, researchers, professionals, students and producers. The main purpose of the journal is to make available the results of research that provides positive contributions to the agricultural sector of the Humid Tropics.
Peer review process
Articles that are submitted for publication must be original, unpublished and not submitted for publication in other journals.
Each article to be published in the JOURNAL of AGROINNOVATION IN THE HUMID TROPICS will be subject to an evaluation process. First, the editor receives the manuscript, where he assesses the contributions of the document and its adherence to the publication standards. Then, it is sent to two external reviewers, national or international, specialists in the topic of interest, to determine whether the document is publishable or not. When the article is sent to the specialized peers, they will not know the author/authors names under manuscript review, nor will the authors be informed of the peers who will do the review (double blind). The external reviewer will analyze the article and determine whether it is accepted as presented, accepted if the author makes the indicated corrections, submitted to a new review after the author makes the indicated corrections, or rejected. In the event that both reviewers disagree with each other, the article will be sent to a third evaluator. All external criteria will be respected. Once the editor receives the reviewers' response, the Internal Editorial Committee will meet and decide which articles will be published and in which section.
Publication frequency
The JOURNAL OF AGROINNOVATION IN THE HUMID TROPICS is published every six months. It corresponds to two volumes per year, the first volume covers the months of January to June and the second from July to December, both volumes will be published at the beginning of each period.

Open access policy
The JOURNAL of AGROINOVATION IN THE HUMID TROPICS is free and immediate access to its content, under the principle of making research freely available to the public, which encourages a greater exchange of global knowledge. The contents are available in full text and without restrictions.

Plagiarism control process
The JOURNAL OF AGROINNOVATION IN THE HUMID TROPICS follows a rigorous process of evaluating the originality of the manuscripts submitted for publication. This review is carried out in parallel with the first review of the manuscript by the Editorial Committee of the journal. The plagiarism control tool of the TecDigital platform from the Costa Rican Institute of Technology is the application used for this purpose. This instrument compares the manuscript with other documents belonging to journals indexed in SCIELO, Latinindex, REDIB, among others. Authors must take special care in the way they cite and avoid as much as possible the textual copying of documents or part of them in the drafts to be presented in the journal.
The maximum similarity tolerated by the journal is 15% according to the comparison parameters issued by the application. If the manuscript presents higher values, it will be re-evaluated by a member of the editorial committee who will objectively and impartially analyze the points of similarity presented by the manuscript. A criterion will be issued internally by the editorial committee of the journal and in case of any doubt, the author responsible will be contacted for due discharge and analysis. In case of not obtaining a satisfactory response from the author within a period of no more than seven days after the request for clarification is issued, the journal may reject the manuscript without the option of appeal by the author or authors of the manuscript.
Copyright Notice
By sending an article to the JOURNAL OF AGROINNOVATION IN THE HUMID TROPICS, the authors assign the patrimonial rights to the publisher of the journal, once their manuscript has been accepted for publication. With this, the authors authorize the JAHT to edit, reproduce, distribute, and publish it in electronic format.
The ownership of the moral rights on the published manuscripts will continue to belong to the authors.

Code of ethics and good practices
The JOURNAL OF AGROINNOVATION IN THE HUMID TROPICS takes into account the principles and good practices set forth in the Code of Ethics and Good Practices of the ITCR Technological Publishing House, guaranteeing the quality of the editorial processes and guiding in the resolution of any conflicts that may arise. This code is based on the following regulations, rules and specialized sites:

• Regulations for the protection of intellectual property of the Technological Institute of Costa Rica.
