Abstract
Recientes avances en la teoría del crecimiento económico y resultados de investigaciones empíricas en este campo resaltan, una vez más, la importancia de contar con acceso a los últimos avances tecnológicos, por medio de la adopción, adaptación o creación de tecnología, como medio para que los países en vías de desarrollo puedan alcanzar un crecimiento económico sostenido. Bajo el concepto de Economía Basada en el Conocimiento (EBC), en el presente artículo, basado en un estudio previo del autor, se discute la importancia relativa de las actividades de innovación que llevan a cabo las pequeñas, medianas y grandes empresas costarricenses de aquellos sectores más orientados hacia la EBC.
ABSTRACT
Recent advances in the economic growth theory and empirical investigation results in this field have highlighted the importance of accessing leading edge technology advances through the creation or adoption of technology, as a path for developing countries to reach a sustainable economic growth. Under the Knowledge-Based Economy (EBC) concept, this article is based on a previous one by its author that discusses the relative importance of innovation activities being done by small, medium and large-sized Costa Rican companies operating in the EBC sector.
