Main Article Content
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to identify the profile of recruiting entities, the way recruitment and selection processes for faculty and administrative staff are managed at Costa Rican universities, and the use of ethical tools within those processes. The research consists of an exploratory quantitative study applied to a sample of professionals engaged in the recruitment and selection of staff at higher education institutions, both public and private, in Costa Rica. The novelty of the study lies in its analysis of the inclusion of ethical elements in hiring processes by recruitment and selection professionals, as well as the gap between awareness of the existence of institutional codes of ethics and their implementation. The results reveal a gap between awareness and the application of ethical standards within university recruitment and selection processes.
